At the invitation of Mr. Stephen Pokawin, Chief of Staff of the Office of Prime Minister Somare, Amb. Li Zhengjun attended the graduation ceremony of the Ecom High School in Manus on 7 December 2004.

Amb. Li was warmly welcomed by Hon. Dr. Jacob Jumogot, Member of the Parliament and Governor of the Manus Province, the provincial administrator and other provincial leaders, and the school leaders including Mr. James Pokasvi, Deputy Headmaster and former PNG Ambassador to the Phillipines. Amb. Li was invited as the keynote speaker at the ceremony. He highly commended the school's practice oriented teaching through which the students could learn the skills of planting, breeding and services. He encourage the Ecom High School students were to study hard so as to rely on themselves after graduation and contribute to the social and economic development.

Amb. Li presented the school with two computers, a 25-inch color TV and a number of books in English about China.

After the graduation ceremony, Governor Dr. Jumogot showed Amb. Li around the Manus General Hospital, the harbor area and the industrial park of the province. They discussed the investment and cooperation potentials in fisheries and other areas.
